Can you believe it… it’s a new year, a fresh start. New Years is one of my favorite holidays because I believe in new beginnings, setting goals, seeing what worked the year before and what didn’t.
We kicked the new year off with a new website! It took so many hours, blood, sweat, and tears but I love the way it turned out and truly believe it represents who we are – our heart and motive behind what we do.. so today I’m going to outline my word for 2019, a few goals and where this blog is going this year… let’s jump in!
My Word for the Year.
Every year at the beginning of December I start praying and asking the Lord to impress upon my heart a word for the new year. This month I prayed and struggled but one rainy afternoon the word came to me. ABIDE. With the word came clarity that I have been searching for all of 2018. A few things that have long been on my heart but I had no idea what to do with them or where to start. And God, giving me my one word made everything that was hazy, clear. I’m so excited to dive deeper into what the word abide means. Most importantly getting to the root of what abiding in/with the Lord really looks and feels like but also what does that word look like in other realms of life. This word for this year is going to be full of deep heart work but also many sweet moments. Every once in a while I’ll be sharing how the word Abide is changing my life whatever that may look like!
I love setting goals and more so Dreamlining. If you haven’t read Timothy Ferriss’s book “The 4-Hour Workweek” you need too! Last year I set a lot of big goals… some I accomplished and some I didn’t. I struggle with being really hard on myself and I saw first hand how picking goals that are big can affect the way I feel about myself. In essence, I bit off way more than I could chew. So I’ve decided to scale back.. I’m tackling three personal goals and three business goals plus making a list of things that I would love to accomplish, do and change but that doesn’t mean in this year. Taking the pressure off I’m convinced I will be a lot more successful at accomplishing what I want too!
Personal Goals :
- Take care of myself
- Do devotions every day
- Create a life-giving home
Business Goals :
- Expand to taking on Editing Clients
- Take a growth class or workshop to better my skills
- Blog twice a week: Monday’s and Thursday’s
I am so excited to get back and dig deep into blogging. I will first tackle our why, our mission and where we want this business to go. From there I have so many series that I’ll be starting along with blogging weddings and all the sessions!
I’m excited to see where this next year of business takes us, where this next year of marriage takes us and most of all I’m excited to see what the Lord will do in our hearts.
Happy new year sweet friends!
